Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM)

Kaya is a freelance senior lecturer, vocal specialist and artist developer with the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), after being contracted from 2015 to May 2019.

Over the last 10 years Kaya has firmly established herself as a highly sought after vocal coach specialising in artist development, voice science, music direction, choir/vocal group work, songwriting support, performance coaching, peak performance and performance anxiety.

Kaya started working with ACM in September 2015, after hearing about the university in the finals of BBC1’s Last Choir Standing, when she was a long standing member of the award-winning choir and singing agency Sense of Sound. As well as teaching at ACM, Kaya has previously taught at LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts) and The University of Chester.

ACM is a university that was founded 20 years ago on a single, fundamental principle: an absolute passion for delivering outstanding contemporary music education. ACM understands how the music industry works today and has created an immersive and comprehensive learning environment, which connects directly with the industry.

Kaya’s role at ACM has been as Senior Lecturer, Vocal Specialist and Artist Development and also Pathway Leader and the curriculum lead authoring several course notes for the Creative Artist study-route. This provides its students with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to discover and channel their inner-artist, covering a combination of songwriting, performance, production and business modules.
